To Veil or Not To Veil...oh and some crepe paper flowers too!

I have always been in camp "I don't want to wear a veil."  But lately, I've been questioning that.  I wouldn't wear a big long eat your face veil (I think I would have a panic attack) but I really love the look of birdcage veils.  They're classic and sassy and I really think I would love wearing one.  So, just in case you forgot, this is my lovely dress:

And these are the kinds of veils I'm considering:

I think the last two are my favorites.  And I would have an understated fascinator that would mimic the flowers on my gown and it would be on my left hand side (so the side opposite the one sleeve).

What do you think?  Do you think it would be too much?

Also, after *hopefully* deciding on my flowers, I've kinda fallen in love with anemones.  Now I'm considering making little anemones out of crepe paper (thanks for the idea Martha) to use for the guys boutonnieres (aka I probably won't decide on what exactly the bouts will be until the very last minute, but that's beside the point).  So yesterday, while Bryan was watching hockey (Go Penguins!) I was experimenting with making anemones out of crepe paper:

I'm no Martha Stewart (yet), but I'm pretty happy with how they turned out for my first try!!!  And I think they would make lovely boutonnieres, I'll let you know for sure once I try it out though!

So, my wonderful readers, what do you think?  Veil or no veil?  Crepe paper anemones are awesome or keep the crepe paper at kids' birthday parties?  I really do love your advice/opinions!

  1. I think a birdcage veil would look great with your gown! I think wearing a veil is a fun touch, since it's the only time in your life you'll have a chance to.

  2. I say go for it! I know it's cliche, but I totally didn't want a veil until I tried one on. You should do it, it'll look great!

  6. YES to the birdcage veil, I think that will be great and YES to anemone bouts. I LOVE anemones and i'm sad they're not in season for my wedding. But all of my inspiration bouts were anemones!
